WTF?

Here’s a few reasons why I started this blog. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Let’s face it, nursing is hard work. Emotionally and physically draining. It can be depressing and heavy or happy and light. Each day is different and brings us new insights into the nuances of life.

 People enter our world of sterilization and somehow travel to a different secret universe within normal society. We have our own laws, rules, protocols that everyone must follow and abide by. We speak a foreign language, use acronyms and abbreviations that the outside world doesn’t use.

 As nurses we’re thrown into this universe and slowly adapt overtime. Things that make us happy at work seem ridiculous when we travel to the outside world. You slip up and use “nurse talk” with your spouse or friends and you’re guaranteed to get the ‘ You-know-I-don’t-know-what-the-hell-you’re-talking-about-so-please-talk-normal’ look.

 So let’s talk about the small or big moments in our day that we think are totally awesome but no one from the outside world does.

 Let’s talk about those moments that make us LOL, cringe (in a good way!), and smile knowingly at our co-workers from across the hall.
